LAMPASAS, Texas (Jan. 22, 2016) – The Lampasas County Higher Education Center (LCHEC) raised nearly $3,000 during the Holiday Sip & Stroll event in December. The fundraiser was held in the historic district of Downtown Lampasas as part of the city’s annual Carol of Lights celebration.

“We are very pleased with the results,” said LCHEC Chief Operating Officer Amy McDaniel “It was our first significant fundraiser and we exceeded our goal by more than 68 percent.”

The event proceeds were used to purchase new seating for the classrooms. The school, which is located across from Badger Field, was using folding chairs that were several years old.

“The new chairs will last longer and be more comfortable for the students,” said McDaniel.

“We are thankful for everyone who came out to the event,” said McDaniel. “Based on the feedback we received from the participating wineries, shops and attendees, this year’s Holiday Sip & Stroll was a great success. We plan on making it an annual event.”

LCHEC, which is nonprofit organization, relies on grants and donations to help fund its programs and services, including career training, community education and higher education. If you would like to learn more about the school or if you’d like to donate, please visit www.LCHEC.net.
