TSI Assessment

About the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) Assessment

As of August 26, 2013, the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board requires all Texas public colleges and universities to administer the new Texas Success Initiative (TSI) Assessment. Any new student who has not enrolled in a college course at a Texas public college or university prior to 8/26/13 or met a state approved TSI exemption will be required to take the new TSI Assessment.

The results of this important placement test will assist college advisors in scheduling you in the courses where you will be most successful. Before taking the TSI Assessment for the first time, you are required to complete a pre-assessment activity. The pre-assement activity  will discuss the content and importance of the TSI Assessment, provide information on developmental education, and provide sample questions for you to practice before testing.
